Career

The Beginning

I first started drawing pictures on the floor and on my desk at school when I was a little kid. By my high school years I started to take my art work more seriously. I remember taking a drawing class from Mr. Walden during my junior year at Punahou. He was one of the first people to encourage me to develop my "talent", so off I went to try to make art as my career...how else, by attending art schools.

1970's & 80's

This was a time when I focused  on learning how to draw and paint. I got my BA in Fine Art from The University of Hawaii, and then attended the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA., for graduate work in drawing and painting. These two endeavor took me the better part of a decade of dedication, and what a time it was!

My best memories during this formative time are mostly about Hawaii...the sweet melow sounds of Kalapana at Chuck's happy hour...Burger Land had a $ 1.25 Char Su plate lunch that you could smell from the stop light...and my friends and I being the only ones on the top of Diamond Head Lookout gazing out at magestic Honolulu 360 degrees. My main memory of California is the LA freeway.
